Viterra's project to build the largest canola-processing facility in Regina is unlikely to proceed, according to a report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service. The project was put on hold after Bunge announced its acquisition of Viterra in 2024. Viterra is focusing on integrating with Bunge and plans to provide a future update on the project. If canceled, it would be the second major canola crush project in Regina to be paused due to reasons like regulatory uncertainty and rising costs.
