Îlot Voyageur: pas de début de chantier avant la fin 2027

The construction of more than 1000 residential units on the Îlot Voyageur site in downtown Montreal is delayed until the end of 2027, two years later than initially announced by Mayor Valérie Plante. The delay is attributed to the complexity of integrating the building with the Berri-UQAM metro station and finalizing agreements with relevant parties. A tripartite agreement between the City, Mondev, and UTILE is expected to be signed imminently. The City of Montreal had previously acquired the site from the Quebec government for $18 million.

La construction de plus de 1000 logements sur le site de l'Îlot Voyageur au centre-ville de Montréal est reportée à la fin de 2027, soit deux ans après la date initialement annoncée par la mairesse Valérie Plante. Ce report est dû à la complexité d'intégrer le bâtiment avec la station de métro Berri-UQAM et de finaliser les accords nécessaires. Une entente tripartite entre la Ville, Mondev et l'UTILE devrait être signée prochainement. La Ville de Montréal avait précédemment acquis le site du gouvernement du Québec pour 18 millions $.
