Major renovation of the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel first traffic tube complete

The repair work on the first traffic tube of the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel in Quebec has been completed, with traffic set to move into the renovated section by April 28. The second tube's renovation will begin afterward, and both tubes are expected to be fully operational by late fall 2026. Significant work, including updates to the ventilation towers and various structural improvements, has been carried out. Ongoing efforts include completing Highway 25 northbound and the Souligny interchange with an aim to finalize landscaping by 2027.
