Project agreement finalized for new corrections facility in St. John’s

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has finalized an agreement with New Avalon Corrections Partners (NACP) for the Adult Corrections Facility Replacement Project in St. John’s. This project aims to replace the aging Her Majesty’s Penitentiary, which is one of the oldest prisons in Canada. The agreement and financial closure mark significant progress towards modernizing correctional infrastructure in the province.

Le gouvernement de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador a conclu un accord avec New Avalon Corrections Partners pour le projet de remplacement de la prison pour adultes à St. John’s. Ce projet vise à remplacer l'ancienne prison de Sa Majesté, l'une des plus anciennes du Canada. Cet accord et la clôture financière représentent des avancées importantes pour moderniser les infrastructures correctionnelles de la province.
