New ferry terminal in Victoria’s inner harbour to begin construction this summer

Construction of a new ferry terminal in downtown Victoria, British Columbia, is set to begin this summer with Pomerleau Inc. awarded the design-build contract. The project, costing $416 million, includes demolishing current infrastructure and erecting a modern terminal in compliance with Canada-U.S. preclearance standards. Aimed at enhancing tourism and trade, the terminal will also feature updated wharf facilities and a new commercial goods processing area. Completion is expected in 2028, with previous upgrades ensuring continuous ferry service during construction.
