The shock committee, led by councillor Daniel Champagne, aimed to increase the number of social and affordable housing units in Gatineau by 850 since its inception in 2022. As of June 9, more than 1,300 units have been completed or are in progress. Specifically, 317 units have been delivered, 1,020 are under construction, and 115 are in the planning stage.
