QUÉBEC MET FIN AU PROJET AVEC NORTHVOLT

The Quebec government has ended its financial support for Northvolt Batteries North America's project to build an electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant in Saint-Basile-le-Grand and McMasterville. The decision comes after Northvolt failed to present a satisfactory plan. Despite the setback, Quebec affirmatively continues to invest in the battery sector. The government had spent $510 million, with $270 million lost, and plans to reassess the use of energy allocated for other projects.
