Canada launches new Major Projects Office to fast-track nation-building projects

The Canadian government has introduced the Major Projects Office (MPO) in Calgary to expedite the development of nation-building projects by streamlining regulatory approvals and coordinating funding. Dawn Farrell will lead the MPO, which aims to identify and fast-track projects of national interest, ensuring they meet required conditions within two years. The office will collaborate with provinces, territories, and Indigenous groups, employing a 'one project, one review' approach to environmental assessments and involving the Indigenous Advisory Council in its decision-making.
