Edmonton approves master agreement for event park and Village at ICE District

The City of Edmonton, in collaboration with the Oilers Entertainment Group and the Government of Alberta, has approved a $408.2 million master agreement to develop the Public Event Park and the Village at ICE District. The project will include a new event park, 2,500 housing units, and demolition of the Coliseum, with funding contributions from each partner. The development aims to boost downtown vibrancy, economic opportunities, and stimulate private investment. Edmonton plans to use the Capital City Downtown Community Revitalization Levy to fund its share of the project.
