Contract Awarded for Yonge North Subway Extension Tunnels

Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx have awarded the North End Connectors consortium a $1.44 billion contract for the advance tunneling phase of the Yonge North Subway Extension. The project involves creating twin tunnels extending 6.3 kilometers from Finch Station in Toronto to just south of Langstaff Road in Markham. This phase will include the construction of essential infrastructure, tunnel boring operations, and installation of tunnel walls. Once completed, this extension will add eight kilometers to Line 1 and introduce five new stations and multiple transit connections.
