WSP to engineer Charlottetown’s expanded waste-to-energy facility

WSP is set to provide engineering and technical services for an expanded waste-to-energy facility in Charlottetown, replacing an existing district energy plant. The facility, designed to nearly double its current capacity, aims to divert 49,000 tonnes of municipal waste annually and reduce 908,000 tonnes of CO2e emissions by 2052. Construction is scheduled to begin in the fall, with operations commencing in 2028.

WSP va fournir des services d'ingénierie et techniques pour une installation de valorisation énergétique des déchets à Charlottetown, remplaçant ainsi une centrale énergétique de quartier existante. L'installation, qui vise à presque doubler sa capacité actuelle, devrait détourner 49 000 tonnes de déchets municipaux par an et réduire de 908 000 tonnes les émissions de CO2e d'ici 2052. La construction doit commencer à l'automne et l'opération est prévue pour 2028.
