CIB lending $108.3M for new wind project in the Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine region

The Canada Infrastructure Bank is investing $108.3 million in the Mesgi'g Ugju's'n 2 Wind Farm in Quebec's Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine region. The project is a partnership between the Mi'gmawei Mawiomi Business Corporation and Innergex Renewable Energy, and it will be developed on Mi'gmaq territory. It aims to generate 150 construction jobs with a focus on hiring from Mi'gmaq communities and will supply enough electricity to power 20,000 homes. Operations are expected to begin in late 2026, with significant environmental and economic benefits anticipated.

La Banque de l'infrastructure du Canada investit 108,3 millions de dollars dans le parc éolien Mesgi'g Ugju's'n 2, en Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine au Québec. Ce projet, en partenariat avec la Mi'gmawei Mawiomi Business Corporation et Innergex Énergie Renouvelable, sera réalisé sur le territoire mi'gmaq.
