China opens world’s longest cable-stayed bridge built using satellite-guided cranes

China has inaugurated the world's longest cable-stayed bridge, the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge, situated in Jiangsu province. The 6.4-mile bridge connects Changzhou and Taizhou, reducing travel time from 80 minutes to 20 minutes and accommodating expressways, local roads, and an intercity railway. During construction, notable achievements included the development of an advanced tower crane and the world's largest-tonnage deck crane. The bridge is expected to boost economic activity in the Yangtze River Delta.
