Loblaw to Install Canada’s Largest Rooftop Solar System at Ontario Distribution Centre

Loblaw plans to install Canada's largest rooftop solar system at its new East Gwillimbury Distribution Centre in Ontario. The solar system will cover 435,000 square feet and generate over 8.5 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually, providing up to 25% of the centre's power needs. The project will incorporate other sustainable features like electric shunt trucks and advanced energy management systems. The facility is expected to be completed in 2026.

Loblaw prévoit d'installer le plus grand système solaire sur toit du Canada dans son futur centre de distribution d'East Gwillimbury, en Ontario. Ce système solaire couvrira 435 000 pieds carrés et produira plus de 8,5 millions de kilowattheures d'électricité propre par an, répondant à 25 % des besoins énergétiques du centre. Le projet inclut également des camions-navettes électriques et des systèmes de gestion de l'énergie avancés. Le centre de distribution devrait être terminé en 2026.
