CLT superstructure ready to rise on former parking lot in Kensington Market

A new four-storey affordable housing complex in Toronto’s Kensington Market will be constructed with a cross-laminated timber (CLT) superstructure. The project will feature 78 units built on a former public parking lot with a concrete foundation and a CLT elevator core. This innovative use of CLT is part of the design by Montgomery Sisam Architects.

Un nouveau complexe de logements abordables de quatre étages à Kensington Market, Toronto, sera construit avec une superstructure en bois lamellé-croisé (CLT). Le projet comprendra 78 unités sur un ancien parking public avec une fondation en béton et un noyau d'ascenseur en CLT. Cette utilisation innovante du CLT est signée par le cabinet d'architectes Montgomery Sisam.
